In order to be eligible for our programs, there are income limits that cannot be exceeded, depending on your family size. (Income limits are subject to change annually).

****Effective June 11, 2007 GMHA has closed the Section 8 waiting List. Applications will not be accepted until further notice.****

****Effective February 19, 2008 GMHA has closed the waiting list for the 3 bedroom units. Applications for 3 bedrooms will not be accepted until further notice. GMHA will only accept applications for the 1, 2 & 4 bedroom units.****

GMHA accepts in person applications for the waiting lists on TUESDAYS, 9:30am to 11:30am, and on WEDNESDAYS, 2:00PM to 4:00PM. In person applications must be completed in our office and only during the above specified time periods. Please provide a photo I.D. and social security card at the time you apply. If you are elderly, handicapped, disabled, or have difficulty with transportation, you may have a representative fill out the application for you. The representative should bring information regarding your Social Security Number, income, assets, banking information, landlord name and current living expenses.

GMHA is now accepting applications through the mail. In order to access the forms, you will need to print them, fill them out and mail them into GMHA. Application Form

Preference Points
In accordance with 24CFR 982.209(b), GMHA uses the following local preferences:

1 point Live or work (20 or more hours per week) in Geauga County
2 points Victim of domestic violence
2 points Veteran or widow of veteran
3 points Work (20 or more hours per week) / Elderly / Disabled

Date and time of application ranks applicants within the same number of preference points.

GMHA has two separate programs; Public Housing and Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. Each has its own waiting list and Program Manager. At the time of application, an applicant must indicate which program he/she is interested in.
